Promotion

I have been promoting Mixed Martial Arts events since November of 2006. It’s been a long hard road which began at a time when MMA wasn’t what it is today. I have always been my own ad designer, web master, interviewer, matchmaker, producer, director, etc etc. More or less a one man show trying to fit a million pieces of a puzzle together to fit nicely into one large and attractive image for the world to enjoy. I’ve built the MMA Big Show based on integrity, honesty, hard work and dedication knowing that the losses of today will become a benefit tomorrow. Through the past 3 years the MMA Big Show has grown, now nationally known and respected, sought after by top fighters as the show to compete in and ultimately one of the best productions in the country. As much as I would like to take credit for everything, I simply can’t. I have been blessed with loyal and hard working friends that have continously demonstrated their hard work ethic and dedication and have never done anything but bleed, sweat and plan to make each show better than the last.

I have also been blessed with some of the countries most talented rising stars of tomorrow that have stuck with me even while lesser promotions have tried everything from promising everything short of the moon to making up rumors and the like if they would leave the Big Show and fight for them. Amatuer and Pro’s alike, with or without exclusive agreements who remain loyal to the MMA Big Show and push all other promotions aside regardless of the smoke and mirrors used to sway them.

I’m writing this all because the past couple shows the MMA Big Show has been compared to the UFC by guys who have fought in the UFC, IFL, Bodog, Strikeforce etc and I feel guilty saying thank you on behalf of everyone that helps me achieve the quality of production we put on.

Greg Hupp – Not only is Greg the Amateur Match Maker for the MMA Big Show, he practically runs and handles everything that has to do with the fighters. Thanks to Greg I know I have someone I can always trust with anything and know it’s going to get done every time without question. I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without the support from Greg.

Mike Stucky and Thunderbolt Productions – Mike Stucky, owner of Thunderbolt Productions based in Cincinnati, OH has been with the MMA Big Show since my second event in early 2007. He is a national production company known for his work with the WWE, Major Concerts as well as Political events. Thunderbolt is the company responsible for making the MMA Big Show look amazing with some of the best production quality and professionalism in the business and because of him and his talented crew, I get the compliments I get from all of the fighters I fly in from all over the country who have seen everything out there and consider us the most exciting and well produced and organized show next to the UFC.

Because of these key people and those that work with and suppor them, we all come together and put on the best shows in the region hands down. What used to be a one man operation where I would be covered in blisters by Saturday night after working long hours 30 days straight non stop through fight night and literally passed out all day Sunday into the next morning from exaustion has blossomed into a crew so well put together that this past Saturday night I had to do nothing but enjoy the show.

The MMA Big Show is a family of people that care deeply about every element of every show and these people are the ones that deserve the thank you’s, the praise and congratulations. They are behind the scenes, in the scenes and in the cage. The other half of the pie that makes the MMA Big Show what it is are the fighters who put it all on the line in front of the crowds and train to put on a great show each and every time. Some of the top MMA gyms in the region including Team Vision who is building it’s reputation as an equal to top gyms in California, Vegas and Florida and G-Force in Ameila, OH who continues to crank out some of the most aggresive and tough as nails fighters around.

The MMA Big Show was the first Pro/Am MMA Promotion in the Cincinnati Tri-State area, and the founder of the business model used today by competing promotions, which is developing tomorrows stars by pitting them against the nationally known veterans of today. The MMA Big Show has outlived the likes of the EliteXC, Affliction, Bodog, the IFL and many others and only continues to grow, get better and broaden it’s reach and it’s been possible because of the team of people working behind the scenes to help achieve these fantastic goals.

The year of 2009 will be a banner year as we continue to be the best Pro/Am Promotion in the Region and further build upon the platform we created in 2006. As we get further into the launch of our first national television season and new sponsors join the MMA Big Show family, you can be sure that the spotlight will only grow larger through out the year.

Now that we have gotten through our March 7th show where we were competing with the UFC and Arnolds on the same night mere hours away and still managed to nearly sell out and this past April 11th show where we were competing against the Easter Holiday and travel plans, we begin our efforts for June 20th where “Relentless” Roger Bowling will defend his title against UFC Veteran War Machine and it’s going to be an amazing show, certain to sell out before the doors are even open…

And always remember, if it’s not a Big Show, it’s not a show at all.
